How Market Radar works

The four tabs

  • Black Market: buy in a city, sell to the Black Market in Caerleon, or carry between Caerleon/Brecilien and the royal cities. Rows are grouped by the city you buy in.
  • Enchant: buy a lower enchant, upgrade it with runes/souls/relics, sell it higher.
  • Crafting: what to craft and where to sell it. Items shows gear and potions/food that sell every day, city by city; Sell instantly sells to buy orders at once, Sell over time puts up your own sell order. Each item also shows what to gather if you gather and refine the resources yourself.
  • Prices: type an item name (add the tier, like “T6” or “6.1”) and see every market: what it costs, what buyers pay, how many sell a day.

Click a row for the exact steps: where to buy, how much to pay at most, where to sell. Profit is after tax and order fees, with your own settings (Profile → My game settings).

LOCAL and API prices

API prices come from the Albion Online Data Project: any player in the world may have uploaded them, minutes or hours ago. Every 5 minutes we check them again.

LOCAL prices were seen by our own members in their game. A step is verified locally when, within the last hour, a trusted member or two different members saw the same price. A row is verified only when all its steps are. One member's look alone is shown in amber, not green.

If a city has no member check for more than an hour, the group says Go update <city> with the word to type into the market search. Open that market page in game and the price is checked for everyone.

Send prices (required to see prices)

Market Radar runs on its members: every member's app sends the market pages they open in game. Prices open while your app is sending.

  1. Download the Market Radar app and install it. It starts with Windows and runs quietly: no window opens while you play.
  2. Open it. If Npcap is missing it shows an Install Npcap button: press it and tick “Install Npcap in WinPcap API-compatible Mode”.
  3. Sign in inside the app and press Connect this app.
  4. In game, change zone once (walk into a building and out, or take a portal). From then on every market page you open is sent. Nothing else on your computer is read.

The data client is the public Albion Online Data Project client; Sandbox Interactive has stated it does not ban for using it.

Prices are locked or nothing is sent

  • Change zone once after the app (re)starts while you are in game: until then it does not know where you are and sends nothing.
  • ExitLag, WTFast, NoPing or a VPN hide the game's traffic from the data client: market pages cannot be read while they run.
  • Npcap must be installed with “WinPcap API-compatible Mode”. If unsure, reinstall it from the app's Install Npcap button.
  • Your antivirus may block albiondata-client.exe inside the app's folder: allow it.
  • The app was signed out (another PC, password change, access paused): open it, sign in, press Connect this app.

Safety

  • Check the price in game before you buy. Prices move.
  • Red zone and Mists roads can cost you your load if you die.
  • Your account works in two browsers (say your PC and your phone) and in the Market Radar app on one PC. One more signs out the one of that kind used least recently.
